Bradford Thompson, MAI, MBA, AI-GRS, SR/WA, has been in the appraisal field since 1989, and was formerly with Mason & Mason from 1991 to December of 2019, before establishing Thompson & Thompson in January of 2020.
Brad specializes in property valuation for eminent domain and other litigation matters, and is a highly experienced expert witness and consultant.
In 1989, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, with an emphasis in Finance, Real Estate, and Business Economics. Brad holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, graduating Beta Gamma Sigma in 1999 with an emphasis in Urban and Regional Planning, Finance, Real Estate and Law.
Brad served on the City of Arcadia's Planning Commission from 2015 through 2023, serving twice as Chair of the Commission.
Brad served as President of the Southern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in 2017, and as Past President in 2018. As a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in California, Arizona, and Nevada, and a Licensed California Real Estate Broker, Brad has been a guest lecturer for USC's Master of Real Estate Development Program, IRWA's Valuation Conference, Cal Poly Pomona's Master of Architecture and the Development Process, and CLE International's Eminent Domain Conference. Brad has testified as an Expert Witness in real estate valuation in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Superior Courts, as well as the California Public Utilities Commission.
Scott Thompson, MAI, AI-GRS, SR/WA, entered the appraisal field in 2006, and was formerly with Mason & Mason from 2006 through December of 2019, before establishing Thompson & Thompson in January of 2020.
Scott specializes in a variety of functions which include market research, property inspection, and appraisal report preparation for numerous property types including commercial, industrial, agricultural, residential, vacant land, and mass appraisal of utility corridors and rights-of-way. He continues to perform complex appraisal assignments for eminent domain matters, complex real estate, litigation consulting and valuations of multiple properties for acquisition projects.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University in 1994, with an emphasis in Business Management, Finance, and Economics.
Scott is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in California and Nevada. In 2018, he earned the distinguished SR/WA Right-of-Way designation with the International Right-of-Way Association. In September of 2021, Scott earned the distinguished AI-GRS designation from the Appraisal Institute. Scott currently serves as the Eastern Branch Vice-Chair for the Southern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.
Cole Thompson, Senior Appraiser Analyst, Associate Member, AI, began his career in real estate valuation at Mason & Mason in June of 2016 as a summer intern, then full time upon graduation from college in 2018 through December of 2019, before furthering his career with Thompson & Thompson in January of 2020.
Graduating in May of 2018, Cole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Law from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. At Bentley University, Cole studied courses in Business Management & Consulting, Accounting & Finance, Retail & Service Operations, Legal & Ethical Practices in Business, Macroeconomics & Microeconomics, Global Strategy & Globalization, U.S. Government & Politics, American Environmental Policy, Business Law, International Business Law, and Real Estate Law.
Cole attended The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, a college preparatory boarding high-school, and was active on the soccer, hockey, and varsity lacrosse teams, Taft Investment and Economics Club, and the Taft Entrepreneurial Club.
Cole has appraisal experience in detailed research and appraisal report preparation for eminent domain both full and partial acquisitions, property tax appeals, estate and tax planning, and inverse condemnation. Cole is actively taking courses from the Appraisal Institute, and is pursuing his State of California Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License and MAI designation. In his free time he enjoys a good round of golf.
